One summer recently I caught...
One summer recently I caught my thumb in the jamb of a steel door. An automatic door closer made it hard for me to push the door back with my free hand. When I released my thumb, I saw that it was badly injured. My first thought was. There are no accidents in divine Mind. I wrapped my hand in a pocket handkerchief and telephoned to a friend who is a Christian Science practitioner, asking for help.
Two or three hours later I went to his office, and I remember we agreed that it did not matter what the material evidence appeared to be, for, as Jesus said (John 6:63), "It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing." The results of the treatment were wonderful. There was no pain whatsoever.
I am grateful for this healing as well as for many others, and I give thanks to God, and to Mrs. Eddy for giving Christian Science to the world for the healing of mankind. —Cecil Digby Burnham, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
