At the height of a so-called critical...

At the height of a so-called critical housing situation, the owner of the house in which we were living informed us that we would have to vacate. This was very disturbing news, but as the transaction was proving a blessing to the seller and to the buyer, we knew that the move would bless us as well.

We were able to put aside the temptation to listen to discouraging remarks of others and continued to take the logical steps to buy or rent a house. However, instead of running here and there to investigate every material lead, I studied the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, earnestly to learn of man's true home and to know that God maintains him there. I realized how grateful I should be and set about expressing more gratitude.

In a few days, while I was talking with a neighbor, she mentioned that a man whom she knew would be selling his house as soon as he could find a desirable one in another city. Upon seeing the house I experienced the happy feeling of coming home, and when we asked the price, to our surprise it was well within our means.
