I am grateful to have had a loving...
I am grateful to have had a loving mother who taught us to turn to God and thank Him for our blessings.
On demobilization at the end of World War I, and while I was searching for employment, I heard of Christian Science through a friend who told me how this truth had helped him. The next Sunday I went with him to my first Christian Science service. The simple service, lovely hymns, and welcome atmosphere made me eager to learn more of this Science, and I began the study of the textbook, Science and Health by Mary Baker Eddy. It was indeed a key to the Scriptures, and the answer to many of my queries unfolded. I was so grateful to learn that our Father-Mother God was not in a faraway heaven, but was ever present and always available.
I was delicate as a child and under medical attention as a young man as well. When, at one time, I made a decision to trust Christian Science and know I was being led rightly in my search for Truth, all medical remedies were discarded, and the physical problem I was suffering from was met. Although there have been many testing times in my experience, I have never regretted my stand for Truth. I was also healed of constipation through the study of our textbook after taking different medicines for years. I had only a slight knowledge of Christian Science at the time, and my thinking improved as a result of this healing.
