MAN'S TRUE HOME

How many times have we said, or heard it said, "I am going home"! What a wealth of meaning is contained in that simple word home, which carries with it the comforting, protecting, loving sense of security and well-being! As we think further on this subject in the light of Christian Science, we find that we do not have to go home, but that we are already there, ever dwelling harmoniously in the ever-present consciousness of divine Love, never separated for a moment from our Father-Mother God.

In the first verse of the ninety-first Psalm we read, "He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty." Throughout this beautiful Psalm is found Love's provision for home if one will but accept it. It assures one of a refuge, a fortress, a shield, and a buckler to defend his dwelling from the shafts of error. The words feathers and wings illustrate the warmth and comfort, the protection and safety, of divine Love. Angels, God's thoughts, surround man's habitation, forever guarding it. One who understands this proves that evil suggestions can find no entrance to disturb or alarm him, and through spiritual ministrations his thought is lifted away from the evidences of materiality and he beholds himself as he is in reality—the perfect spiritual reflection of the perfect Mind. As he expresses love for all that is good, and therefore spiritual, he is set "on high" and honored and delivered. Then he understands that man reflects deathless Life, and thus he attains the salvation promised him in the last verse of this Psalm.

What a glorious thought—that we can take our home with us wherever we go! No matter where we are or in what circumstances we may find ourselves, we can experience all the joys and comforts of our heavenly home and reflect these joys to all we meet, seeing them as our brothers, dwelling in perfect unity, all having one Father. Gratefully we can share with them the happiness that we are experiencing through our increasing understanding of our true home. A loving smile may lift a saddened heart, straighten a weary back.
