When I became interested in Christian Science some ten years ago, I had the smoking habit, from which I had tried to free myself for many years without success. On my way home with two church members from an inspiring Christian Science Wednesday evening testimony meeting, I mentioned my problem. One of my companions immediately said: "Desire is prayer, and if, as you say, you desire to turn to Christian Science for help, that prayer will be answered. God's help is always at hand, and actually you are free now." And I was free from that very moment. The healing was instantaneous and permanent, and the real joy came in the fact that I was completely freed from the false appetite, I have never since had the slightest desire for tobacco.

To me, this healing was a perfect example of the immediate help and healing received when one turns entirely to Spirit. Years of trying to overcome the habit of smoking through human will power had availed nothing. I am deeply grateful for the mighty power of Truth as explained in Christian Science, which, as in my case, instantaneously heals.

I was healed instantaneously, too, of social drinking when with business friends. I read an article in the Sentinel which made me realize that I was continuing in this practice because of fear of losing business contacts and orders. When the error was uncovered, and I realized that supply is spiritual, I was free. Ever since I made this demonstration, my business has prospered and my every need has been met.
