VICTORY

Must we shut Love from out our lives
For evil shown,
Terming it weakness? Shall we then
Grim hate enthrone?

Although we fight, as brave men must,
The godless lie
Which would enslave the hearts of men
Till freedom die,

Yet even while the battles rage,
In that same hour
Our greater task is still to prove
That Love is power.

The all-inclusive kindliness
For friend or foe
Which heals of lust for place and power,
We all must know.

And we must walk the reverent path
Our Master trod,
Loving with mind, and heart, and strength,
For Love is God.
