The testimonies published in the Christian Science periodicals and those related at Wednesday testimony meeting's in the Churches of Christ, Scientist, have been an inspiration to me for many years.

When I was a child, a great–aunt brought Christian Science to our home. Because of an obstruction in vision, she asked my mother to read to her from the textbook. "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and soon my mother realized that this was the religion which she had been searching for, and she began the study of it. I had the privilege of attending the Christian Science Sunday School for some time, and much of the truth I learned there has remained with me.

It was not, however, until after I married and had children that I saw I must prove the truth for myself if I was to teach them to rely on Christian Science; so I began to study in earnest. One of the first healings brought about through my own work in Christian Science was that of a sore eye, which had troubled our elder son for some time. One night, while studying, I turned to page 137 in our textbook. I saw that I of myself could not heal, for it is Christ, Truth, that frees. This realization of truth brought the healing, for when I went to the child's bed the next morning, his eye was perfect.
