I am so glad that in my girlhood days I tame across "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker' Eddy and a 1905 issue of The Christian Science Journal, for the truths they contained entirely changed the course of my life. Even as a child I loved the Bible; and I shall always be thankful to my mother for sending me to a Christian Science Sunday School, as it helped me to build upon a strong foundation.

I have always found that Christian Science heals when it is understood and applied. It helped me in bringing up our family; and three of our daughters are studying and applying this truth in bringing up their children. Measles, scarlet fever, spasms, colds, fevers, chicken pox, and mumps were healed through the power of Truth. Many ills have been overcome by my holding to the truth that God's man is forever harmonious and perfect; and during the years since then other difficulties have been healed through the work of consecrated practitioners.

I wish to relate a healing which brought me very close to God. I was suffering from what seemed to be an inward tumor, which was pressing against my heart, causing me much pain. One warm October day I was alone, and to mortal sense I was passing on. However, I knew that I must deny the material evidence and look to God. I began by repeating the following comforting message from Hebrews (4:12): "The word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart," and I claimed that in God is my life, my being, my substance, my all. I thanked God for Christian Science and all the blessings that had been bestowed upon me. In a few minutes all the pain and discomfort left, and I felt peaceful and free. There has been no return of the trouble.
