GOD—EVER-PRESENT GOOD

CHRISTIAN SCIENCE teaches that God, good, is all presence and power and that this truth is available here and now to heal all inharmonies and distresses which flesh is heir to. Jesus taught and proved this truth nearly two thousand years ago. He revealed to suffering and sinning humanity the ever-present Christ as the Saviour and Redeemer of the world from sickness, sin, and death.

Mankind has constantly yearned for this healing truth which Jesus said would make men free. When burdened and afflicted, they have cried and sighed with Job of old (23:3), "Oh that I knew where I might find him!" Through its gospel of love, Christian Science is revealing to this age the understanding of truth—the kingdom of heaven within, of which Jesus spoke when he said (Luke 17:21), "Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you."

In this kingdom of God, or pure consciousness of good, there is no inharmony or evil of any kind, for good and evil cannot dwell to gether. It is truly a great joy to know that as God's loving, loved, and obedient reflection, man can be conscious only of the completeness of peace and perfection, harmony, joy, and freedom, which expresses God. He can never for a moment be separated from God's tender love and constant care or get outside of the presence of divine Love. Therefore he can never want for anything.
