During the many years that I...
During the many years that I have been studying Christian Science, I not only have experienced, but also have witnessed, many healings and blessings through prayer as taught in Christian Science. Among my numerous healings, those of insomnia, headaches, nervous prostration, arthritis, sprains, and a craving for coffee and tea are particularly vivid.
One cold day our car was being pushed by a tow truck over an icy street. The driver said that he would gradually increase the speed to thirty miles an hour. On a very slippery surface our car turned half around and stopped in the path of the oncoming tow truck; but the truck did not strike our car—there were inches to spare. The two-way street is a main throughfare, but no cars were approaching from either direction when our car skidded, although several came immediately thereafter. The driver of the tow truck said he had thought surely that he would smash into our car and did not understand why he had not done so. When another tow truck which he had called arrived, I heard him tell the driver that he had thought an accident inevitable.
