WHY THE SILENCE?

Why should a silence fall
When each has much to say
To help his fellow men
Upon the upward way?
Why should a silence fall?

Why should a silence fall
When others wait to hear
The words we do not speak?
When Love and Truth are near,
Why should a silence fall?

Why should a silence fall
When God supplies each word
And banishes all fear?
If hearts by Him are stirred,
Why should a silence fall?

There is no silence now;
Lips testify what hearts avow.
