Though I did not come to Christian Science for physical healing, I had the great joy of a double healing three months after I began to read "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. I had been subject to all kinds of throat troubles since childhood. In January, 1916, one of these attacks made its appearance. In a few days I was healed without recourse to material means through Christian Science alone. I have not had a sore throat since. With this healing the cigarette habit also left me. I had often before tried to get rid of this habit by will power, but never succeeded.

In 1918, during the so-called Spanish influenza epidemic, both my wife and our little daughter came down with this ailment. A faithful Christian Science practitioner treated them, a Christian Science nurse looked after their comfort, and they were healed. One morning during this period I awoke with all the symptoms of influenza. I telephoned to the practitioner, who promised to help me. I started for work, but felt miserable all day and could neither work nor eat. By evening I was fully recovered.

Another quick healing, for which I am very grateful, occurred about four years ago. While at breakfast I found that my right arm was paralyzed. I started to work as we are taught in Christian Science, and after twenty minutes I was able to finish the meal. When this condition recurred later, I went to see a practitioner and was completely healed in four days.
