Church Dedications

Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, England (First Church).

An interesting and impressive service was held in Leamington Spa on September 25, 1949—the dedication of First Church of Christ, Scientist, located in Augusta Place.

What is the history of this church? It dates back to the year 1904, when three people who were interested in the teachings of Christian Science met to read the Lesson-Sermons together in one of their houses. Later they were joined by other people attracted to Christian Science, and meetings were held in various houses until a room outside was taken for the purposes of holding such meetings.
