CONCERNING INFLUENCE
Christian Science proclaims one divine Mind, one Christ, one divine influence. This influence manifests unerring wisdom, undeviating control, and is accompanied by signs following. Man, God's image and likeness, is directly under this influence. He is not swayed by any counterattractions. He is not controlled by human beliefs or conflicting opinions.
The world of material persons, each exercising a material influence for good and evil, gives place to the world of divine Principle and its ideas, beheld as men and women acting under the influence of the Christ. Such a world is ours today if we are willing to yield up the so-called control or influence of the human will and wait on God to motivate and influence thought and action. If in meekness and earnest desire we seek to be guided by divine influence, we shall find ourselves safe in God's keeping.
The liberating influence of the Christ is always exercised in the service of Love. The effects of this Christlike understanding are seen in the restoration and maintenance of health and in happy and holy relationships. Under the sway of divine influence we find brother aiding brother, nations in agreement, civilization and society functioning in a united and progressive world. How important, therefore, to understand and dwell upon the power of divine influence which destroys all counterattractions.
