The first experience of the healing...
The first experience of the healing power of Christian Science in our family was the instantaneous healing of a loved one of the liquor habit, which had enslaved him for twenty-five years. The healing was permanent. On page 568 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" our dear Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, states, "For victory over a single sin, we give thanks and magnify the Lord of Hosts," and for victory over this sin of the liquor habit I have rejoiced and given thanks again and again. The remembrance of it has strengthened and helped me to stand fast in later years while going through great trials.
Many so-called contagious diseases have been healed, such as whooping cough, scarlet fever, measles, influenza, and smallpox in a severe form, leaving no scars.
During the period that my youngest son was attending the Christian Science Sunday School he was completely healed of eczema on both legs which was thought to be inherited. A fall from his bicycle resulted in blood poisoning in his foot. This was healed in a very short time by his firm stand for Truth.
