Bedford, Ohio (First Church).

That proud and happy moment when they dedicated their new church building free of debt dawned October 30, 1949, for members of First Church of Christ, Scientist, Bedford. Services were held in the morning, afternoon, and evening.

The spired, white-pillared, early American structure was opened for worship in May, 1948.

The church building at 297 Warrensville Center Road realizes the hopes of a small group of Christian Scientists in Bedford who first held meetings in the homes of members. Later forming a Christian Science Society, they held meeting in the Knights of Pythias Hall.

In 1927 the society received a charter establishing it as First Church of Christ, Scientist, Bedford. The church held meetings in a number of places through the years, including the American Legion Hall and the Y.M.C.A. Building. In 1946 property for the present building was purchased. The new structure was completed in the early part of 1948.
