I praise and magnify the Lord...

I praise and magnify the Lord and bear testimony to the grace of the Christ-spirit as being ever sufficient to nullify the mortal beliefs of serious consequences resulting from accidents.

Some time ago my granddaughter and I went to dine with friends who had been lent a charming house at the seaside. The party of five were all students of Christian Science, so it was a very happy gathering. After dinner our hostess and my granddaughter cleared the table, and I went into the drawing room, which was dimly lighted. I had never been in the house before and therefore was ignorant of its layout. It was a large room, and after a while I arose and slowly walked around it examining the pictures. When I came to a very large sofa, I went around it to examine the pictures on the wall and suddenly found myself in mid-air. Down a steep staircase I crashed! I rolled over and over the hardwood steps, colliding eventually with a door, head on. Gradually I realized that although I was bruised and shaken, no bones were broken. Love had indeed given an angel charge over me.

My granddaughter immediately telephoned to a dearly beloved practitioner, and all about me were "instant in prayer" and most helpful, loving, and wise. I was able to be driven home and, with loving assistance, to climb the steps to the house. The work so willingly and clearly done for me entirely freed me of shock and the distress of that bad dream.
