During the last eight years I have experienced various healings in Christian Science. I should like to relate three of these healings, which were brought about with the aid of a practitioner.

In 1941, I was obliged to stop working for three months because of a spinal displacement. During that time I suffered agonizing pain. The doctors I consulted gave me no hope; they could only recommend trying a plaster-of-Paris cast for two or three weeks. This advice was given to me on a Friday in October. I went home in a crippled and hopeless state. One of my sisters, who knew something about Christian Science, advised me to go to see a sister-in-law, a Christian Science practitioner.

The next day my wife and I left home to follow this advice. That same evening we studied for some hours the Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly for that week, "Are Sin, Disease, and Death Real?" Shortly after we had retired for the night, I felt a violent sensation in my spine, after which I fell quietly asleep and awoke the next morning completely free. We were more than happy. To my employer's surprise, at seven o'clock on Monday morning I was back at work.
