It is with a heart filled with gratitude...

It is with a heart filled with gratitude to God and Mary Baker Eddy that I write this testimony of the wonderful healing which took place in our home through the application of Christian Science.

At the store where our son works it is necessary for him to use an electric meat saw and grinder. Upon my arrival at this place one morning, his employer's wife met me at the door and told me that my boy had met with a severe accident. She said that his hand had been caught in the electric grinder and one finger had been cut off between the end and the first joint. His employer rushed him to a neighborhood doctor, as this was the rule of the store. The doctor said, "I can do nothing for the hand at home; it is too badly injured." He was taken to another physician, who dressed the finger, saying, "From now on it will be a stub."

All the while the woman was telling me about the accident, I was knowing that in reality my son was the perfect image and likeness of God; that no sense of imperfection could fasten itself upon God's perfect child. Realizing that God fills all space and that my boy lived, moved, and had his existence in the divine Mind, I knew that he could not be injured, for no accident could occur where God is. Mrs. Eddy, in describing how Christ Jesus healed, writes in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (pp. 476, 477): "Jesus beheld in Science the perfect man, who appeared to him where sinning mortal man appears to mortals. In this perfect man the Saviour saw God's own likeness, and this correct view of man healed the sick."
