Only when I attended a Christian Science...
Only when I attended a Christian Science church service did I realize what satisfaction and peace could be mine, even though I did not understand much of what I heard. Since that first visit, some fifteen years ago, I have never resorted to medical aid. The compulsion of day-to-day experiences made me realize the need of radical reliance on and adherence to Truth as revealed in the textbook of Christian Science, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and my progress has been steadily upward.
The statement from "The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany" by Mrs. Eddy (p. 232), "The right way wins the right of way, even the way of Truth and Love whereby all our debts are paid, mankind blessed, and God glorified," and the first verse of the Ninety-first Psalm, "He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty," were the two spiritual staffs upon which I leaned most and which gave me hope and helped me to keep my sanity.
I owe gratitude to loving friends who have counseled, guided, and encouraged me in Christian Science. By spiritual means only I have had immediate healings of influenza, lumbago, and low blood pressure. The elimination of colds is probably one of my greatest blessings. The joy of being helpful and useful to others has brought me constant rewards, and I am daily divinely directed and protected.
