I should like to express my gratitude...

I should like to express my gratitude through our beloved periodicals for Christian Science and for the many blessings that have come to me and to my family through the study of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, as well as of her other writings.

I did not come into Christian Science because of the need for physical healing, even though there was such a need. The early loss of my parents, circumstances in the home later, and the conditions in the country in which I then was living, all made me realize that there is no permanency, happiness, or satisfaction in material existence. God meant a great deal more to me than any orthodox religion could offer, and I was seeking something higher and invariably turned to God for guidance.

From the very first day that it was presented to me I accepted this Science because I immediately glimpsed the great truth that God is not the author of evil, and from there on everything seemed logical and in accordance with Scriptural teachings. I immediately asked for help for rheumatism, which was lovingly given. The healing must have been instantaneous, for I do not remember when the suffering ceased. This healing took place over ten years ago, and there has been no return of the condition.
