I am grateful for Christian Science...

I am grateful for Christian Science because of a most wonderful healing my little daughter experienced, which proved how near God is when we trust in His help.

One day when I was about to go to a Wednesday evening testimony meeting, I noticed that her eyes were filled with pus. I hesitated to leave her, but she said to me: "You can go cheerfully to church. Won't you pray too for Daddy and me?" So I went to the meeting. When I returned home, however, the child had a high fever, and her eyes were completely closed. I was awake for many nights reading Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy and trying to realize that no evil could touch God's pure child. I still had great anxiety and fear because the illness seemed to grow more serious.

I was tempted to use material means, but she obstinately refused to have me, although she was obviously suffering great pain. She kept whispering, "Mummy, I don't need all that stuff, 'cause God is so good to me." I prayed earnestly to God, but my fear was very great. I held the child in my arms and thought that she had passed on.
