Christian Science Committees on Publication Report INCREASING APPRECIATION OF THE MONITOR

[From annual reports]

Norway

In earlier years efforts have been made to interest editors in Norway in subscribing to The Christian Science Monitor on the exchange-for-advertising plan, which is so much in use, especially in the United States, but with no results. Last year, however, twelve newspapers in various parts of the country accepted the offer. One of them replied in part to my letter: "It is a pleasure to us to accept your offer.... We have learned to appreciate the Monitor as an excellent newspaper ..., and we hope to be able to take advantage of it to learn still more about the United States and American thinking."

There has been a great increase in quotations from the Monitor in the press. One hundred and forty-two quotations appeared during the year, sometimes whole articles.
