Church Membership—Identification with Universal Good

A member recently admitted from overseas writes of her joy when notified of her acceptance into membership and adds: " The following Scripture exactly expresses my feelings: 'Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God' (Eph. 2:19). I felt a sense of completeness and of unity with the Cause of Christian Science—no longer an adherent, but a member, with a member's privileges and responsibilities; not partly, but fully identified with Christian Science."

To be identified with Christian Science is to be identified with universal good, to become "fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God," even as the Scriptures declare.

Applicants are admitted to membership twice each year by The Christian Science Board of Directors under the provisions of the Manual of The Mother Church by Mary Baker Eddy. To be considered for the next admission of members, applications must reach the Clerk not later than Monday, May 1, 1950. The date of admission is June 2, 1950.

It will be most helpful to the Clerk and his staff if those who intend to file applications will do so as early as possible rather than wait until near the closing date.

Application blanks and information concerning membership may be obtained at Christian Science Reading Rooms, from practitioners listed in The Christian Science Journal, or from clerks of branch churches and societies. Applications may also be obtained from Gordon V. Comer, 107 Falmouth Street, Boston 15, Massachusetts.
