A dear Christian Scientist said to me, "You must speak." I pondered these words, and it became clear to me that Christ Jesus spoke often. Had he not done this, mankind would not be illumined and blessed by his wonderful words. Only in one situation "he opened not his mouth." This was before Pilate, at a time when mortal mind would have spoken in self-justification.

Today I have the desire to share with you a wonderful demonstration which my Father-Mother God enabled me to make.

Three weeks after enemy soldiers had abducted my husband, I too was taken prisoner by soldiers of another nation, so that our two children, seven and six years old, had to be left alone in the foreign country where we had been sent from Berlin. With many other women I was carried away in a wagon, and we did not know whether we would ever be permitted to return. I at once knew that in this situation only thoughts of Truth could help, and therefore I tried in humility to lay down all human will and to express fidelity and obedience to divine Principle in order that my thoughts might be so clear that I could have healing and helpful thoughts about my husband and our children.
