ALLNESS AND ONENESS

"The allness of Deity is His oneness" (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 267), is one of the most profound statements in the Christian Science textbook. The fuller meanings with which its author, Mary Baker Eddy, invests the words "allness" and "oneness" may seem difficult for the beginner to grasp, since even to the more advanced student these important words, as applied to the nature of Deity, continue to unfold as he progresses.

The smallest understanding of this fundamental statement will work great changes in our thinking. As we ponder it, we begin to grasp that the all-inclusiveness of Mind, God, precludes any separation of idea from its source; that in this oneness of Deity individual man is included as reflection, the very image of his creator, the Father-Mother, Life and Love. How gratefully we learn that in the Science of creation there is no aloneness for man, but he is one with God's allness as Mind's idea, for as compound idea he reflects infinity. Thus we see that supply, home, each right idea necessary to our well-being, is always present in the allness of Mind and through spiritual understanding ever available.

The omnipotence of divine Principle, Love, is ever present throughout spiritual creation, and man witnesses to this power through his inherent obedience to Principle. To human sense this divine order becomes apparent in every right activity—church work, profession or business, and recreation; but, in reality, true witnessing is the being of Love's expression, the unlabored showing forth of the substance of Spirit.
