In gratitude to God, our Father-Mother, to Christ Jesus, our Way-shower, and to Mary Baker Eddy, our Leader, I send this testimony.

Christian Science came to our home thirty-six Years ago through the healing of my husband of the desire for alcoholic liquor. He had been a slave to this desire from early manhood. At this time he had been drinking for some months and had not been able to sleep for some time. A friend, seeing his need, asked him to visit a Christian Science practitioner. He consented, and after a visit with the practitioner, who told him there was no reason why He could not sleep, he retired and slept peacefully all night. On awakening in the morning he found that he had been healed of the desire for liquor. Before his healing, several doctors in this city had given him not more than six months to live. After his healing he had thirty-one years of active life. We both took up the study of Christian Science, and in the years following, our every need was met. A successful business was established through the same practitioner's work.

I should like to tell of one of my healings. For some weeks I had been suffering from a physical condition, and a practitioner had been working for me. There was some improvement, but it seemed to me that in this instance I needed to work the problem out myself. I talked this over with the practitioner, and we decided that I would go along by myself and if I needed more help I would call her again. For several days everything went along well, but then the condition returned and was more severe than before.
