For many years I was seriously ill from what physicians diagnosed as cancer or malignant inflammation. I submitted to four major and several minor operations to remove diseased organs and tissue, only to have a recurrence of extreme suffering following brief periods of relief. When I was confined to my room and all medical and surgical skill had been exhausted, I was expected to pass on at any time. However, as the days passed by, I awakened one morning to realize that possibly God was working out a purpose and that I continued to live for some reason which was unknown to me at that time.

I asked my husband to call the physician, as I desired to talk to him. My request was granted. The doctor told me, as he had previously, that nothing more could be done, but asked me to study Christian Science because he thought it would comfort me. He knew I loved the things of God and had always desired and prayed earnestly to live a Christian life. Through a friend who was interested in Christian Science, we got in touch with a practitioner. For the loving work and patience of this devoted servant of God, I shall ever be grateful. Gradually the long night of suffering faded as the dawn of the Christ, Truth, illumined my consciousness, and I was completely healed.

The precious words from Isaiah have been fulfilled: "The glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it." As a result of this beautiful healing and revealing, my husband, our children, and our grandchildren have accepted Christian Science. It has been our help in every need for twelve years. For the manifold blessings bestowed upon us we are deeply grateful.
