Although I attended a Christian Science Sunday School...

Although I attended a Christian Science Sunday School as a child, I did not realize what a wonderful privilege it was to be a student of a religion which teaches that God is Love, an ever-present help in trouble. However, after I graduated from high school, it became necessary for me to turn wholeheartedly to God for help and protection.

My first experience was that of obtaining a position. Relying on God and knowing that as His perfect idea there was a place prepared for me, I was notified of an opening with the government. Later I received three opportunities, consecutively, not only for advancement in salary, but in locations nearer my home.

When my husband went overseas during the last war, the Lesson-Sermons in the Christian Science Quarterly were a constant joy and protection for each day. With thoughts of fear and anxiety expressed around me, I praised God for His omnipotent care and for the courage I had gleaned from the truth that makes men free. After two years my husband returned, well and safe, and for this blessing I thank God. A lovely home was provided for us when the outlook was very doubtful and homes were said to be unavailable.

Colds, scarlet fever, and extreme sunburn are only a few of the many difficulties of which I have been healed through the study and application of Christian Science. With the help of a practitioner I experienced a harmonious childbirth in spite of complications. I never cease to be thankful for a little knowledge of this great truth that heals physical difficulties and solves our everyday problems.

I thank God for our dear Master, Christ Jesus, who showed us the way; for Mrs. Eddy, our Leader, who has given this religion to our age and to all ages to come; and for the practitioners, who are ever ready to give us a helping hand. I am also grateful for our periodicals and for membership in a branch church.—(Mrs.) Margaret L. Perdue, Berwyn Heights, Maryland.
