Christ Jesus said, "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." Christian Science does indeed give rest from all fears and anxieties. This was proved in my experience over six years ago. I had been informed by the medical profession, after many examinations by various eminent physicians, that I was suffering from an incurable malignant growth. After months of fruitless treatment I had returned home worse than before.

At this point the healing truth as presented by Christian Science came to my aid. A Christian Scientist offered me the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science. I took the book home and read it earnestly, but there did not seem to be any relief from the suffering. After about three weeks, when the sense of pain seemed exceptionally severe, I opened the Bible with an earnest prayer to God for an answer and read in Matthew 28 "Lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world."

This was indeed the answer, for a great sense of the allness and the wonderful love of God flooded my consciousness, and all sense of pain immediately disappeared; I was instantaneously, completely, healed. I was able to return to business the next day greatly invigorated; and an abiding peace and joy dwelt with me. This healing has been permanent. Our Leader writes in Science and Health (p. 442), "When Christ changes a belief of sin or of sickness into a better belief, then belief melts into spiritual understanding, and sin, disease, and death disappear;" and a realization of this had lifted me above pain, sorrow, and sickness into health, joy, and harmony.
