I have had so many healings in...
I have had so many healings in Christian Science that I hardly know where to begin. When I took up its study I was a worker in an orthodox church, but after reading a few Sentinels which were lent to me, I saw that it was the truth I was reading. I severed my connection with that church and began to attend the services held by the Christian Science Society in our town. That was more than twenty-four years ago.
A copy of the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, was purchased, and I was soon healed of indigestion, which I had had all my life, also of constipation, headaches, and a nervous condition of the legs. I had an instantaneous healing of a painful sore throat through reading a testimony in a Sentinel. The first demonstration through my own understanding was the overcoming of influenza. I have also had a healing of an internal trouble. This took several years, but it has been permanent. At one time I had an unpleasant experience with bladder trouble, which did not seem to heal, and one day I asked God to show me where I was wrong. I opened my copy of The Christian Science Journal at an article which seemed to have been specially written for me. As I read it I was healed of self-justification and also of the bladder trouble.
I am grateful for the healing of a quick temper, criticism, and many other faults of character. There have been two healings of the tobacco habit in my family.
The problem of lack also came up to be destroyed. With the help of a practitioner I saw the nothingness of that false claim, and though I am now left alone, I have no anxiety about supply.
I am very grateful to God, to our Way-shower, Christ Jesus, and to Mrs. Eddy for her unselfed work in founding the Christian Science organization. I am grateful for the periodicals, in which I always find something to help me. I am grateful to our practitioners, who are always ready to help us solve our problems. I want only to live a life worthy of our great Cause.— (Mrs.) Ethel Chadwick, Bury, Lancashire, England.
