"Only by love"

Without love there can be no life. Love creates life, and love sustains life. This truth is seen in that famous Bible verse (John 3:16), which might be shortened thus to bring out the main thought: "God loved that we might have life."
The world needs love desperately. The wounds of war can be healed only by love. ... America can win the friendship of people of other lands only by caring for them, by understanding them, by showing genuine friendship for them. Along with her money must go caring, which administers the help in the right way, with the right spirit. Though America bestow all her goods to feed the poor and have not love, it profiteth her nothing....
