With heartfelt gratitude for Christian Science and for the many blessings which have come to me and mine through the application of this teaching, I give the following testimony.

Through knowing that God is our only source of health I was healed of typhoid in 1942, and later a severe attack of malaria was reduced to its native nothingness through the realization of the ever-presence of divine Love.

More than at any other time, we experienced divine provision during the Japanese occupation of Sumatra, where we were then living. Whenever error would have us believe that we had no more money to buy the necessary food, and we rejected this falsehood, there always came at the right moment help from somewhere. The words of Isaiah (26:3), "Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee," became a tangible reality whenever we acknowledged God as the only provider and as the Almighty. Holding fast to the fact that God, divine Love, is the only Ruler and therefore possesses all power, we were able to live through what people called chaos.
