Instantaneous healing of injury from fall

It is with sincere gratitude I give this testimony of the many blessings and healings I have experienced in the past twenty-three years. I am most grateful for the help of practitioners and for the literature, also for membership in The Mother Church and for active service in a branch church.

I was reared in a Christian home. My father was an officer in his church for forty-two years. My first healing through Christian Science took place in 1925 while I was employed in Bermuda. I had fallen and injured the base of my spine. A guest at the hotel where I was employed saw me limping and asked me to come to her room. She explained so clearly and beautifully about man as God's reflection that I was instantaneously healed. One day I told this guest that I should like to be free from the necessity of wearing glasses, and she lovingly replied that when I knew the truth about sight, I should no longer need them. Nine months later I was able to leave off the glasses after wearing them for twenty-two years. This healing took place over twenty years ago and has been permanent. The demonstration came through my knowing that eyes are "spiritual discernment,— not material but mental," as Mrs. Eddy tells us in Science and Health (p. 586).

In Proverbs we read (3:5, 6): "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths;" and in Science and Health Mrs. Eddy says of Jesus (p. 44): "His three days' work in the sepulchre set the seal of eternity on time. He proved Life to be deathless and Love to be the master of hate." These passages have been a great help to me in my daily business activities, and I am exceedingly grateful.
