Many benefits reaped from attending Sunday School

The first healing I ever had through the ministrations of Christian Science took place before I, or any member of my family, knew anything about this Science.

As a child I was subject to severe sick headaches and biliousness, which often necessitated my going to bed. One day when one of these attacks was upon me, a relative, who is a loyal student of Christian Science, came to my bedside and sat silently praying until I fell into a peaceful sleep. In Christian Science one does not treat another without consent, but no doubt she was realizing something of the allness of God and of His tender relationship to His spiritual creation, for I awoke the next morning completely healed. So complete was the healing that it must have been some twenty years later that I thought of these headaches again and realized that I had had no further attacks in all those years.

Not Iong after this healing I came to know something of Christian Science myself and attended the Christian Science Sunday School. I have since learned that it was the Christ which healed me. In the Glossary of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 583), Mary Baker Eddy defines "Christ" as "the divine manifestation of God, which comes to the flesh to destroy incarnate error." I have always been grateful for this healing. It has shown me that one does not need to understand Christian Science in order to be healed.
