General debility overcome; success in career achieved

For the greater part of my life I have been a Christian Scientist. I thank God for the protection, comfort, and sustenance received, and for the transformation of character brought about through a growing understanding of Him, as well as of man and of Christ.

Christian Science healed me of general debility, which required much medical care; and as I grew stronger, glasses were left off and not used for twenty-five years. It lifted us into harmonious surroundings and improved financial conditions, brought success in my career, and increased my ability to take up new studies and perform new work with speed and success. During the so-called, depression, I found employment in another city with a firm which flourished during all those lean years.

It has been my privilege to be a member of and to attend Christian Science branch churches in many cities and countries, and it has been good to know that God is present everywhere. During the First World War, when zeppelins and airplanes were bombing London, I was able to be at my post every day without fail.
