Gratitude is vital factor in instantaneous healing

My introduction to Christian Science took place over thirty years ago when I saw my mother instantaneously healed of an internal difficulty through reading the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy.

The physical and mental transformation of my mother was so remarkable that I finally agreed, reluctantly, to attend a branch church, although I was at that time an agnostic and bitterly antagonistic to Christianity. My outlook on life was so materialistic that I found great difficulty in understanding what I heard and read about Christian Science, but I kept on attending the services in a rather critical frame of mind.

From boyhood I had always been classed as delicate and every year had severe attacks of influenza and bronchitis. Then in 1915, during the First World War, I had my worst attack. I can only recollect reaching home and asking my wife to get in touch with a practitioner, before losing consciousness. To my amazement, I awoke the following morning perfectly well.
