OUR PILGRIMAGE

These latter days challenge us to do our best. They certainly challenge our trust in God and our understanding of Christian Science. The days of complacency are at an end. As Christian Scientists we are called upon to work, watch, and demonstrate. The law of Life demands that we reach out for the spiritual understanding of being, lest human existence be brought to an untimely end by "man's inhumanity to man."

Stability is not to be found in materiality. If matter could be stabilized, then materialism would be true, for Truth is indestructible and unchanging. Stability is to be found in divine Principle, God, and in God alone. Man is born of the Spirit, evolved and controlled by Mind, and moved by spiritual influences.

We learn in Christian Science that we do not live in a world of persons and things, as the material senses indicate. We live "in heavenly places in Christ" (Eph. 1:3). This is a spiritual fact, and it can become a practical conviction. We live in good and should love the good we live in. As sons and daughters of God we are freeborn. Freedom is our natural inheritance. We are citizens of the kingdom of heaven.
