My gratitude for Christian Science...

My gratitude for Christian Science is great, and I am very grateful to God and to our dear Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, for all the blessings I have received.

In 1926 I had a nervous breakdown which was occasioned by loneliness, fear, and lack of food, home, and work. I often wanted to go back to France, but because of lack of money I was forced to remain in Canada. I consulted a doctor, and he said that my heart was weak. He forbade me to do hard work, run, or climb stairs too fast; he also said that I would not live any longer than a year and a half.

At this time some friends took me to a Christian Science church in Vancouver, British Columbia. I shall never forget the music of the organ playing and the ushers' loving manner. It was just like a haven to me and a new life coming to me. I was a new man. I could not read English very well, but nevertheless I became interested in Christian Science.
