I desire to testify to a few of the many healings that I have received in Christian Science, which has been a constant, unfailing source of protection and healing.

Several years ago I was healed instantaneously after two weeks of severe pain from sinus headaches. It was only after other office workers had expressed concern and advised me to see a doctor that I realized I should call a Christian Science practitioner. This I did immediately. Within five minutes after the call, the congested nasal passage began to clear, and within ten minutes I was entirely free. The condition has never returned.

Healings are not always instantaneous, for often we blindly cling to the very error we would destroy. Thus it was that many months were required for me to dispel the habit of cigarette smoking. The slowness of the demonstration was caused by my reluctance to admit that smoking was an evil of any consequence. But it became increasingly clear to me that the tenacious habit was in actuality a challenge to my desire to know and do the will of God. Therefore it was not just a little evil, but a stumbling block to spiritual progress. Reduced to the realm of false suggestion, this belief was quickly erased from consciousness, and I was able to inform the practitioner with joy that the healing was complete. Since then I have not had the slightest desire for tobacco and am generally unaware of whether persons around me smoke or not.
