Student expresses gratitude for his spiritual growth

Mary Baker Eddy says in her work "Miscellaneous Writings" (p. 307), "God gives you His spiritual ideas, and in turn, they give you daily supplies." I am grateful that for a period of more than twenty years an earnest study of Christian Science and daily striving to follow its rules have brought me everything necessary to my well-being, including health and happiness.

My first healing in Christian Science occurred when at the age of sixteen years I became ill with influenza, which at that time was prevalent in the community. A relative called a practitioner for treatment, and in a short time I was completely healed. Though I have had many healings through the ministrations of this beautiful and practical religion, this one seems most important because of the awakening it brought.

At another time I suffered for several days from swollen gums. When the condition did not improve through my efforts, I requested the help of a practitioner and was healed overnight. Colds, bruises, and an unsightly growth on my face have yielded to Christian Science treatment. Also many faults of character have been corrected through work in church and Sunday School.
