Lecture aids healing of serious injuries

As students of Christian Science we are taught that accidents are unknown to divine Mind. To apply practically what we know at a moment of great need is to demonstrate Christian Science.

On a bitterly cold afternoon my husband and I were on our way to a Christian Science lecture. Suddenly a soldier appeared at the window of our taxi and asked if our driver would give his car a push, as it was stalled. This the driver proceeded to do. After we had gone a short distance, apparently through an error in shifting gears the soldier put his car in reverse, with the result that it crashed backards into the taxi. The impact was terrific. I was thrown forward against the window before falling to the floor. Putting my hand to my face, I realized that I had to deny the reality of a broken nose, plus many other injuries. Uppermost in my thinking was the thought that a crowd must not gather. Resentment must be kept out in order that Love might come in and heal. I clung to the spiritual facts that consciousness, my true being, cannot be lost for one moment and that a divine idea cannot be disfigured.

I realized that I must get to the lecture, for the practitioner whom I might need to ask for help was to be there. The moment she saw me at the lecture she discerned my great need of support. Almost as soon as the lecturer started, I heard him say: "God loves you. God will heal you." It was as though the message was given directly to me.
