Article in Sentinel leads to blessings of Christian Science

Before I took up the study of Christian Science, I read an article in a Sentinel. It contained the thought that no matter where you are or how much in need of help, you are always taken care of, for God is your help, and by relying on Him at all times you are constantly protected.

A few years ago I had an opportunity to prove these truths. At the time, I was staying each day with an elderly man while his people were working in war plants. When I was getting up one morning, I fell back on the bed. Not having any idea what the trouble was, I made a great effort to get up and was able to do so. I had taken only a step or two when I discovered that I was numb on the right side and could not lift a finger, although my mind was entirely clear. I thought of Mrs. Eddy's spiritual interpretation of the closing lines of the Lord's Prayer (Science and Health, p. 17): "For God is infinite, all-power, all Life, Truth, Love, over all, and All." I held to these truths until, in about ten minutes, I was free. When I started across the city to the man's home, I was feeling fine. I stayed all day and had no return of the trouble.

About two months later I went to town to do some shopping. As I was walking to the rear of a store, I felt as if I had been shot in the head, and I suffered extreme pain for about one minute. The numb feeling on my right side returned also. I again repeated the truths I had used on the former occasion, and all pain disappeared. Finding I was all right, I left the store, and not a person there knew what had occurred.
