Many years ago a Christian Science practitioner, called to our home by my parents as a last desperate measure, brought comfort, assurance, and an explanation of the Christ, Truth, which healed me. Physicians had given me but a few hours to live, because pneumonia had developed into a serious lung congestion. After two weeks of Christian Science treatment I was back in school. While I have since worked out problems presented by severe colds, my initial healing was complete, and no difficulty ever resulted from the experience.

During the years that have followed, Christian Science has brought so many blessings to me that to relate them would require many pages. Several of the more outstanding experiences, however, may bring courage to others who are seeking freedom from some mesmeric argument.

During World War I, while serving in the United States Navy, I had the privilege of helping to organize Christian Science services and of serving as First Reader for seven months at the Naval Operating Base where I was stationed. The Camp Welfare Workers provided by The Christian Science Board of Directors in Boston were valiant workers, and many outstanding healings resulted from their efforts, my own among them.
