Church Membership Kept a Song in Her Heart

Concerning her membership in The Mother Church a grateful woman wrote us in part: "It was protection and deliverance when bombs were falling; light when darkness was thick about me; help when none was at hand; a companion when no one was nigh." And she added that she could not have come through or still be carrying on "with a song in my heart" were it not for her church membership.

The foregoing illustrates the mighty paean of praise welling up in the hearts of thousands of members of this Church the world over, echoing and re-echoing its glad song of joy, comfort, and healing.

Of these songs our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, writes, "Though neither dome nor turret tells the tale of your little church, its song and sermon will touch the heart, point the path above the valley, up the mountain, and on to the celestial hills, echoing the Word welling up from the infinite and swelling the loud anthem of one Father-Mother God, o'er all victorious!" (The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany, p. 186.)
