FULLNESS OF JOY
A deep
, abiding joy does not need laughter
To express its presence or its power,
For God's own Son, known as the "man of sorrows,"
Gave us his joy that our joy might be full.
Fullness of joy shows forth in strength and calmness,
In confidence and fearlessness and peace.
It is expressed in gentleness and mercy
Pouring forth from confidence in God.
What is true joy that it could have been given
To all the followers of Jesus Christ?
Could it be more than knowledge of man's oneness
With his Father—one with all of good?
Our Christlike joy cannot be taken from us
By any man—that is what Jesus said!
