When I entered a university, being...

When I entered a university, being of religious nature I decided to study for the ministry and to lay the proper groundwork for such a calling. After two years of study, during which I was confronted with questions of higher criticism, scholastic theology, and philosophical discussions, I changed my course.

In the meantime I had become a member of another orthodox church, in search of more liberalism in religion. This change did not offer a solution to my problems, and I found myself adrift and without an anchor in the sea of life. Then, over thirty years ago, a friend and business associate lent me a copy of the (Christian Science textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. Through this I was awakened to the study of Christian Science, and I sought the help of a practitioner. I needed satisfactory employment and the overcoming of a sense of lack.

I was told (Matt. 6:33), "Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." I went to the Christian Science Reading Room as often as possible to improve my time in study, and I was greatly rewarded thereby. My business connections began to improve, and success came to me beyond what I otherwise could have expected.
