Several years ago I heard a Christian Science lecturer make a statement to this effect: There is no one in the whole world who is opposed to Christian Science, but there are many people who are opposed to what they think it is. If it were what they think it is, we should be opposed to it too; but we are grateful that it is something quite different. Since I live in a small town where there are few Christian Scientists, this thought has been most helpful to me, for it has enabled me to have more love for all with whom I am associated.

Christian Science is defined by Mrs. Eddy in "Rudimental Divine Science" (p. 1): "As the law of God, the law of good, interpreting and demonstrating the divine Principle and rule of universal harmony." It has been to me a most satisfactory religion, a satisfying way to think and live, and the effective means of healing as demonstrated by Christ Jesus.

In speaking of Christian Science in "Miscellaneous Writings," our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, says (p. 336), "Part and parcel of Truth and Love, wherever one ray of its effulgence looks in upon the heart, behold a better man, woman, or child." This statement certainly applies to me, both physically and morally. Having been reared in the Christian Science Sunday School and church, I have been wonderfully blessed by experiencing its healing power many times. By daily study of the Bible and the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, I know that I am protected. Whenever I have sincerely applied Christian Science and have endeavored to put the material situation completely out of thought and sought not to heal matter or improve it, but rather to understand God and man's perfection as God's reflection, I have found complete freedom from physical disability.
