I did not begin the study of Christian Science for physical healing, but to correct an unhappy, inharmonious condition in the home which had been brought on mostly by my own wrong thinking. My devout Christian parents had instilled in their children great love for the Bible, but when problems of my mature years came, this orthodox religion did not give me the needed answers.

I shall never forget the generous love of a friend, who was on the same train as I on her way to receive class instruction in Christian Science in a distant city. She took me in for I had truly lost my way. My stay with her in a hotel in that city included my introduction to Christian Science treatment, and I made daily visits to a practitioner. I bought a copy of the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and learned how to study the Lesson-Sermons in the Christian Science Quarterly, This Study made my homeward journey one of expectancy and joy.

Each day became inspirational. I eagerly sent our four children off to school that I might quietly study the Lesson, as well as read the textbook. To my surprise many physical healings came. Sick headaches which had been termed chronic, and a nervous condition, as well as many false traits of character, were healed.
