I have always been very grateful to Christian Science because it has protected and inspired me all my life.

At three different times I have been confronted by conditions of insecurity, unhappiness, and lack. By specific and diligent work, together with the constant support of a Christian Science practitioner, I was able to prove each experience a great blessing. This has given me a growing realization that we do not have to get happiness and supply, but that we need only to become aware that we possess them by reflecting God, Spirit, Love. Through the years even a small understanding of this truth has brought me an ever greater sense of security and opportunity

In 1928, while I was living in Paris, a condition of inflammation and pain developed in one of my feet. I could not bear even the weight of the sheet on it. This condition was healed in three days by the work of a local practitioner, and the experience afforded me an opportunity to become acquainted with many fine Christian Scientists in that city.
